Each year, Friends in Service Helping’s Christmas Adopt-a-Family program coordinates the giving of new clothes, toys, food and other items to low-income families. Over the years, the program has allowed an opportunity for many selfless and compassionate people in the community to share in the holiday spirit by adopting - single parent families, low-income families with children, or seniors on fixed incomes. Without the support of so many and the tireless energy of so many volunteers, many residents in our community would experience much less happiness during the holiday season. Registration of eligible low-income families and seniors for F.I.S.H.’s Christmas Adopt-a-Family program was conducted from October 15 - November 16, 2007. If you'd like to get involved in our holiday programs as an adopting individual or family or would like further information, please give us a call at 775-738-3038, or email us at Monica@elkofish.org. As an adopting individual or family: 1. You review the participating families below. 2. One you have selected a family call Monica at 738-3038; she will then reserve the family for you, arrange for the profile to be sent to you, via, fax, e-mail, or regular mail; the option of picking up the information is also available. 3. You then have a great time shopping for the items that are listed on the profile. We ask that you purchase according to your financial ability, wrap and label packages and make arrangements with the family to deliver the packages between November 19th and December 22nd. Thank you for making the holidays special for Elko County residents!
